A 25 minute Podcast about Rainforest Rick
Hi, I’m Rainforest Rick
I’m Rick Boyd, also known as Rainforest Rick. I breed tropical dart frogs, tree frogs, and glass frogs, as well as cultivate bioluminescent algae and glowing petunia flowers.
Who I am
- I have been an educator for more than 30 years, and a professor at Marquette University since 2019. Teaching is one of my passions and I’m happy to be able to tie in my hobby of cultivating these exotic species while educating those around me.

Why I do this
- I love learning first-hand about the wide variety of these colorful tropical frogs. On top of that I enjoy playing “Noah’s Ark” to aid in the conservation of several species that are critically endangered in the wild.
